Producers

  • International Monetary Fund
    works to foster global growth and economic stability. It provides policy advice and financing to members in economic difficulties and also works with developing nations to help them achieve macroeconomic stability and reduce poverty.
  • IMF Statistics Department
    provides a number of statistical products and services to member countries and the international community. These include standards for data dissemination, support of surveillance and use of Fund resources, technical assistance, training, statistical methodologies, database management, statistical publications, and international statistical coordination.

Publications

The World Economic Outlook Reports, usually published twice a year, present IMF staff economists' analyses of global economic developments during the near and medium term. Chapters give an overview as well as more detailed analysis of the world economy; consider issues affecting industrial countries, developing countries, and economies in transition to market; and address topics of pressing current interest.

The IMF publishes also a broad range of publications, including analytical reports, technical papers and statistical standards and codes, and manuals and guides.

Databases

The World Economic Outlook (WEO) database provides time series data for GDP growth, inflation, unemployment, payments balances, exports, imports, external debt, capital flows, commodity prices, more.
The International Financial Statistics (IFS) database provides approximately 32,000 time series covering more than 200 countries starting in 1948. Includes exchange rates, Fund accounts and the main global and country economic indicators.
The Public Sector Debt Statistics (PSD) database, jointly developed by the World Bank and the International Monetary Fund, brings together detailed quarterly public sector debt data of selected countries, initially mainly developing /emerging market economies. The main purpose of the PSD database is to facilitate timely dissemination in standard formats of public sector debt data.
